The 2011 Season begins on October 22-24, 2010 and runs through August 28, 2011.
Players need not play right from the beginning of the season and are welcome to begin playing the tournaments at any point in time.SA Junior Tennis organizes and offers the following tournaments:Gran Prix INTRO:
For players with a suggested experience level of 10 lifetime tournaments played or less
. The INTRO tournaments are supplementary to the regular Gran Prix tournaments and give inexperienced players an additional opportunity to gain tournament match play under their belts. There is no limit to the number of Gran Prix tournaments players may play, so it is suggested that newer players play both Intro and the regular Gran Prix.Gran Prix: Age divisions 10-16 are open to all players not qualified for the Championship/Super Championship divisions in Texas
. Unlike the Intro tournaments, the regular Gran Prix tournaments offer points towards standings and a chance to qualify for the Gran Prix+, Masters, and State tournaments. A new 18 Super Open
division is open to all players, including Championship and Super Championship players (age requirements apply). Play for the 18 Super Open division will conclude with the Masters tournament (not the State tournament).Gran Prix Doubles:
Doubles tournaments for players based on the same eligibility requirements as Gran Prix singles tournaments.Gran Prix+:
Limited to Champs players as well as Gran Prix players that have accumulated enough points to be in the top 50% of the standings in their division.Pass the Racquet:
Innovative form of doubles in which the two players on each team must alternate who hits each shot by sharing one racquet and handing it off between each shot. Adds excitement, action, and genuine team play to tennis.
Age divisions for all SA Junior Tennis tournaments this season are based on the age a player will be on the future date of September 1, 2011
