Start Time:

• Earliest anticipated Saturday start is 8:30 am. Actual start times will be posted on the draws.

• Draws Posted: Thursday evening before the tournament at https://www.sajuniortennis.com (email notification will be sent out once draws are online).

Competition Format:

• Match Format: 2 out of 3 sets, no-ad scoring; super tiebreak for 3rd set.

• Consolation Draws: available for non-round robin draws.

• The first 8 players signed up for each division will be entered. Subsequent entries will be considered for possible inclusion (charge will be canceled if not included).

Age Divisions:  Age division placement is based on the ages players will be on September 1, 2027.  

Eligibility:  Entrants must not have competed in prior USTA Level 1-4 tournaments. UTR Level guidelines are as follows (this differs slightly from playoff eligibility requirements at the end of the season - see the Circuit Info page for more details):

Boys 10 and under: UTR 2 and below

Girls 10 and under: UTR 2 and below.

Boys 12 and under: UTR 3.5 and below.

Girls 12 and under: UTR 2.75 and below

Boys 14 and under: UTR 4.5 and below

Girls 14 and under: UTR 3.5 and below

Boys 16/18: UTR 5 and below

Girls 16/18: UTR 4 and below

In the event an age division is short players, it may be combined with another division.  

Surface:  

Hard court; if the tournament site has both clay and hard courts, both surfaces will be used interchangeably to maximize efficiency and to minimize delays.  This will allow as many matches as possible to be played at a single location.

Circuit Info:

Players will earn Gran Prix standings points in the SA Junior Tennis Circuit with wins.

At the end of the season, the top eligible point earners in each division will be invited to compete in the Masters Playoff Tournament in August of 2027 to determine season winners. These players are then typically selected to compete as the San Antonio City Team at the RSPA Texas Junior Gran Prix State Championships in New Braunfels in September after the Masters. (Player eligibility will be based on not having competed in USTA Level 1-4 tournaments and falling within acceptable UTR levels - see the Circuit Info page for more details.)

Policies:

• Refunds: Please note refunds are not available after entry deadline or for weather-related cancellations or reschedules.

• Head Injury: Any athlete suspected of sustaining a concussion must be removed from play immediately. The athlete shall not return to play until evaluated and cleared in writing by a licensed healthcare provider. All participants must review and acknowledge the Circuit Head Injury Policy if one is made available at the tournament.
